Volunteer Opps

Winter Bazaar Setup – Fri 12/2/22, approximately 1p-7p

The annual AMHS Winter Bazaar wis Saturday, 12/3/22. We will be moving lunch tables and chairs down through the GYM hall to clear the space to set out approximately 100 or so vendor tables and chairs. This activity usually starts around 1pm (to allow student volunteering with leadership approval) and should be complete by 7pm or so, depending on the amount of help we get. Student volunteers can count this towards their required community service hours for graduation and scholarships (please remember to get the event coordinator to sign off your paperwork on the day that you help).

Winter Bazaar Breakdown – Sat. 12/3/22, approx. 3p-8p

After the Bazaar closes at 3pm and vendors have had a chance to pack up, we will take down all vendor tables and chairs, sweep up the area and collect all trash and bring back in all the lunch tables and chair stacks to get the Commons ready for school. This activity usually starts around 4pm and we should be done by 8pm, depending on the amount of help we get. Student volunteers can count this towards their required community service hours for graduation and scholarships (please remember to get the event coordinator to sign off your paperwork on the day that you help).

Textile Drives – Sat. 1/7/23 (10a-1p), Fri. 1/27/23 (3:30p-6:30p), Sat. 2/11/23 (10a-1p), Sat. 2/25/23 (7:30a-11a)

(At AMHS) You will help donors unload their donations from their car and into our storage spot at the school on pre-collection days. On Collection days you will help load all pre-collected items from our storage spot at the school into a box truck and help unload at the donation center in Tukwilla. Student volunteers can count this towards their required community service hours for graduation and scholarships (please remember to get the event coordinator to sign off your paperwork on the day that you help). All are welcome to help out (not class specific).

Scholarship Committee

(At AMHS and Auburn High School, light work Dec.-mid March, in person reviews Mar.-Apr., presenting awards in June at Senior Awards Ceremony) This committee is responsible for maintaining and evaluating scoring criteria as well as scoring application packages and awarding scholarships to our AMHS Seniors. The AMBC Scholarship is awarded as a part of the Auburn Community Scholarship application (one scholarship application for Seniors, multiple Auburn community members/organizations awarding those applicants). Adult volunteers welcome to apply here (no Senior Class parents please).
